Driver Length

So it turns out that my driver came in at 45.75" 44.75" from the factory. I had it cut down .5" to 45.25" 44.25". It plays a lot better... I'm still not quite there, but I can tell a difference in control.

For me it made a huge difference. I didn't lose any distance and my control has gone way up. Used to be drivers were 43 to 44 inches. Typically drivers are 44.75 inches and above. I believe "standard" is 45 and up. It makes a huge difference. I'd go down to 44 if I thought it would keep me in the fairway more often. Probably would.

When I strike the ball well I'll go 280, short hits are 220 and more often in the fairway. Fairway is way better than bushes.

When you cut a driver down and your control goes up, that means you are going to hit it farther, which is what I've found. My average driving distance has gone up probably 20 yards because I'm hitting it strait.

Darn, I'm smart. ;-)
